Townhouse developments can appear relatively simple, but many include infrastructure and coordination challenges more typical of larger multi-residential projects. Concrete parking structures, shared building systems, phased servicing, drainage, and municipal requirements can all introduce complexity that needs to be addressed early.
A common pitfall is approaching these projects as conventional low-rise residential design. Without experience in more complex developments, important issues related to underground parking, fire protection, electrical distribution, site servicing, and coordination with civil systems can be overlooked.
Our broader MEP experience allows us to recognize these challenges early. We also understand evolving municipal requirements for stormwater retention, controlled discharge, and water reuse, helping ensure that building systems and site infrastructure are properly coordinated from the outset.
The result is a practical and cost-effective design that maintains the simplicity expected in townhouse construction while properly addressing the more complex systems behind it.
